Wildlife holidays
This vast continent is home to more species of wildlife and plant life than anywhere else in the world. It is also home to the most diverse range of landscapes including the world’s largest rainforest, longest river, longest mountain range and driest desert.

There are some very rare animals at home in these landscapes including the shy spectacled bear of the Andes, the elusive jaguar of the tropical forests, the amazing hummingbirds of Costa Rica, the majestic condors of the Andes and the giant tortoises of the Galapagos.

Over 50% of the world’s bird species are found in Central and South America making it a twitcher’s paradise. Many of the main wildlife regions have now been protected as national parks and reserves by their respective countries with careful eco-tourism allowed only in certain areas. Although restrictive this is the best way of preserving these places for their natural inhabitants.
