Heike Oelbuttel has been in the travel industry for the past 20 years and started out as a Tourist Guide because of her foreign language skills. Cape Town is her home town and thrives on giving visitors the "insider" info.
Namibia is her second home country and adores the deafening silence of the desert and the evening sunsets which are always different.
She has travelled extensively within Southern Africa and there are a few areas that still need to be discovered together with a story or two to be told.
Highlights of her career amongst a multitude of others include Livingstone Island on the Victoria Falls, the Rovos Rail, and a pyjama game drives at a private lodge during winter whilst a site inspection with travel agents or rock-n-roll dances in the flower fields of Namaqualand with 80 year olds.
Her favourite animals are the inquisitive suricates at Jack's Camp, the elegant and lithe cheetah and the Fish Eagle for its spine chilling call.
She keeps herself up todate with regular site inspections throughout South Africa and no matter how big, small or complicated the programme each enquiry is a challenge to fulfill.
